Military Times hires Carl Prine as new high-profile Editor for Navy Times

VIENNA, VA, June 22, 2018 – Sightline Media Group is pleased to announce Carl Prine, an award-winning reporter and Iraq veteran, as the new Editor of Navy Times. Carl comes from the San Diego Union-Tribune, where he covered the military beat and breaking national news in one of the most important military cities in America. Prior to working for the San Diego Union-Tribune, Carl spent 16 years as an investigative reporter. His experience is expansive and high-profile, ranging from military affairs to national security to terrorism and cybersecurity issues. His work has been featured on 60 Minutes and he’s won numerous awards, including the top prize from the Military Reporters and Editors association. Carl was an enlisted Marine infantryman but left the service before the Iraq war. In 2003, he covered the invasion of Iraq for the Pittsburg Union Tribune. He later reenlisted as an Army reservist and was promptly deployed to Anbar Province for a year during the height of the counterinsurgency fight.
