Military Times and ScoutComms Partner on Annual ‘Best for Vets’ Ranking Surveys
‘Best for Vets’ Employer Survey Opens March 18
March 18, 2020 — The national independent news outlet Military Times and ScoutComms, Inc., a Certified B Corporation and the nation’s leading communications and marketing firm dedicated to providing services and research that support veterans and military families, have announced a new partnership on the annual ‘Best for Vets’ Employers and Colleges rankings. ScoutComms will provide the research and survey analysis behind the annual surveys in a multi-year effort.
“We are thrilled to partner with Military Times as they share our mission to serve the military and veteran community by providing well-sourced knowledge and information. ScoutComms began over nine years ago as one of the very first public relations and communications firms in the nation devoted to serving veterans and military families, and the annual ‘Best for Vets’ rankings have been a staple product in our industry. It is our privilege to join Military Times in their commitment to demonstrate the highest standards of research and best practices as we identify the top employers and colleges that benefit the veteran community,” said Fred Wellman, Founder and CEO of ScoutComms.
The 2020 Military Times Best for Vets Employer survey, powered by ScoutComms, will open Wednesday, March 18, and is available to for-profit companies of all sizes, as well as government and non-profit organizations. The survey will remain open for approximately six weeks. It will be followed in the fall by the ‘Best for Vets Top Colleges.’
“In partnership with ScoutComms, the 2020 Military Times ‘Best for Vets’ survey will be streamlined to identify and highlight the efforts that companies, and organizations make to recruit, retain, and support current and former service members, military spouses, and military caregivers,” said Mort Greenberg, Senior Vice President of Media Solutions for Military Times.
The rankings survey will include updating, analysis and reporting under the direction of Dr. Kiersten Downs, Research Director of ScoutInsight, the market research division of ScoutComms. The methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by the ScoutInsight research team with input from subject matter experts in Human Resources and other aspects of the community who focus on military-connected employment practices, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and inclusive workplace policies.
“Our goal is to apply a rigorous research discipline to the notable ‘Best for Vets’ surveys so that companies, organizations and schools who contribute will be used as a point of reference for expectations within the military and veteran community,” said Dr. Kiersten Downs, Research Director of ScoutInsight, the market research division of ScoutComms.
Analysis and the resulting ranking of respondents will be published in digital and print editions of Military Times, which includes Army Times, Navy Times, Air Force Times and Marine Corps Times.
