Arlington, VA – November 28th, 2023 – MCON, a leading military focused event company, is thrilled to announce the winners of its $250,000 advertising giveaway in partnership with Military Times. The contest, which ran for two weeks in October of this year, ending midnight PST on October 31st, offered an extraordinary opportunity for nonprofits serving the military community to boost their visibility and impact. Plus, an additional $100,000 was provided to two additional veteran service organizations.

The contest received an overwhelming response from nonprofits across the nation, all of whom are dedicated to supporting and making a difference in the lives of military personnel and their families. Eligible nonprofits were encouraged to participate by posting on their preferred social media channels, tagging both MCON and Military Times, and rallying their supporters to like and engage with their posts, all while showcasing their creativity. The hashtag #MCONGIVESBACK was used to unite the entries and raise awareness of the initiative.

After carefully reviewing the entries and tallying up the likes, MCON and Military Times are pleased to announce the five outstanding nonprofits that have emerged as winners:

1. Stack Up

2. Armed Forces Initiative of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers

3. Global War on Terrorism Memorial Foundation

4. Project Resilience CSRT

5. Huts for Vets

Each of these remarkable organizations will receive a generous advertising donation valued at $50,000 from Military Times, giving them the opportunity to further their missions and reach a broader audience. Additionally, one of the five nonprofits will receive an extra special bonus—an additional $5,000 cash donation from the Military Times Foundation.

In addition to the five organizations above, both Hunter Seven and Semper Fi and America’s Fund were each presented with $50,000 media awards as well at the MCON wrap up ceremony.

“We are deeply moved by the incredible response to this giveaway and are honored to support these nonprofits that play such a vital role in our military community,” said Waco Hoover, Founder and Partner of MCON. “We believe in the power of the media to make a positive impact, and we are excited to see how these organizations will use their winnings to enhance their efforts.”

Military Times shares in this enthusiasm for supporting the military community. “Our partnership with MCON allows us to help these nonprofits expand their reach and continue their important work,” said Mort Greenberg, Senior Vice President of Military Times. “Congratulations to the winners, and thank you to all the nonprofits who participated,” said Kelly Facer, Senior Vice President of Military Times.

MCON and Military Times would like to extend their gratitude to all the nonprofits that entered the giveaway. The dedication and commitment of these organizations are truly inspiring, and their tireless efforts deserve recognition and support.
