Sightline Media Journalists to Receive Awards from Peers
VIENNA, VA., June 8, 2020 – Sightline Media, the publisher of Military Times, Defense News, C4ISRNET, Federal Times and Fifth Domain, today announced that its journalists have been recognized as winners and finalists by various award-giving bodies in the last week alone.
The announcements came from different highly-respected organizations that support and recognize journalism, some of them focused on the military, defense and national security space.

Stephen Losey, senior reporter at Air Force Times won the Print/Online Overseas: Small Market Award from the Military Reporters and Editors Association (MRE) for “Start Finding Me, Boys,” a dramatic account of the shoot-down and rescue of then colonel and now current Air Force chief, David Goldfein. The MRE Journalism Contest and Awards recognize outstanding military reporting in several categories. On the business to government side, the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) DC Chapter just announced winners and finalists of the Dateline Awards. SPJ is the oldest organization representing journalists in the United States. Jill Aitoro, executive editor at Defense News won best editorial/opinion writing for Wait, where are all the women? Other Sightline journalists were finalists in various categories.

For years they have honored the most thoughtful and groundbreaking international reporting and influential journalists focusing on the commercial and defense aerospace market. Winners for 2020 will be announced in July.
