Publisher of Military Times, Defense News names new editor-in-chief
ARLINGTON, VA., July 14, 2021 – Sightline Media Group today announced Mike Gruss has been named editor-in chief. In this role, Gruss oversees marquis media brands that include Military Times, Defense News, C4SIRNET and Federal Times. He will lead and drive strategy meant to improve collaboration across news brands and continue its evolution into a modern news organization.

Gruss was formerly editor of Defense News and executive editor of Sightline’s business to government group, prior to this promotion. He joined Sightline in 2017 as editor of C4ISRNET.
