VIENNA, VA, October 8, 2020 – Sightline Media, parent company of Defense News and C4ISRNET, today announced that its journalists walked away with two awards at the 2020 Defence Media Awards. Jen Judson won best land systems submission and Mike Gruss and Aaron Mehta won best breaking news submission

The Defence Media Awards recognize the work of defense journalists who cover the defense industry. The awards were presented during a virtual ceremony Oct. 8. “I am so proud of our team and honored to be recognized alongside our colleagues. This honor is testament to our newsroom’s dedication to excellence and providing compelling coverage every day,” says Mike Gruss, executive editor of Defense News and C4ISRNET.

In addition, Mark Pomerleau of C4ISRNET received a judges’ commendation for the John Morrocco Award, which recognizes the best in-depth defense reporting.

Sightline Media Group has won several awards at this event since its inception in 2018, including for best unmanned systems submission and best breaking story.
